THE NEED: the root of most problems in the world can be traced back to our generally
accepted corporate structure, which is designed to generate profit for it's
owners-- at any cost. It's an efficient and soulless machine that can easily be
directed to create suffering for the sake of profit.
The generally accepted non-profit model is nowhere near as efficient-- but
equally deficient in it's natural tendency to encourage directors to put the
expansion and retention of their own personal power, before the goals and good
of the organization.
PARTNERS WANTED: Voters.com presents a new model for organizing people for profit.
As an LLC all directors are owners. Deployed as a web application, true
democracy and accountability provide provide a nimble and fun environment where
new members can very quickly become Directors. And Directors who do not perform,
quickly fall back into the general population.
Look for innovative features such as:
ELECTED OFFICIALS: Frequent elections, where a
President, CPA, and System Admin,
oversee the infrastructure. Three or four vice presidents, as Directors, for
each District are elected and retired by a common vote. It's a two
step process: you vote OUT the worst Director, (leaving at least two), then, you
vote IN a new Director bringing the total Director count, back to three or four.
GRANULARITY:
committees and districts that find themselves with
similar objectives, can merge, taking the name of either sub-domain,
to form a larger and more powerful entity. OR-- dissimilar
factions within any committee or District can split apart, to
form a new sub-domain under a newly elected Director.
AUDIT TRAIL: Public and private votes can be changed
any time before the close date. After the close date, any individuals may view
their own vote AND the totals for all committees and districts. If a recount is
requested members receive an email confirming their voting record.
DEMOCRATIC ACTION COMMITTEES: Monthly dues is paid into one or more current
projects, based on each members involvement and discretion through the voting
process. Members not only fund projects they believe in, they participate in the
discussion and decision about how their money is spent!
FINANCING: If necessary, I am willing to sell the domain voters.com to make this
happen. Estimated value of voters.com domain: 350k. Or, District sub-domains
could be sold for $500 to $2000 each. I'm also open to other options.
DEPLOYMENET PLATFORM: Ruby on Rails. As an example,
Yellowpages.com is the 33rd largest website
in the US handling 2.5 million searches per day. Yellowpages.com is deployed in
only 20k, of Ruby on Rails code, compared to the the previous 125k of Java code.
The new site is faster, more reliable, and much easier to maintain. Ruby on
Rails is know as Agile Web Development because web applications can be built at
1/10 the time-- which lowers development cost and time considerably.
